The 1000 Islands region of the St. Lawrence River is a world-renowned fishery for northern pike, smallmouth and largemouth bass, walleye, muskie, numerous species of panfish and more. In fact, in 1999 The Bass Anglers Sportsman Society (B.A.S.S) recently listed the St. Lawrence River as the number one bass fishing destination in the world. The 1,864 islands and countless shoals provide innumerable sheltered fishing hot spots. A variety of techniques will prove successful, depending on the species, time of year and different types of structure you pursue.
The area is also home to The Alexandria Bay Fishing Guides Association. The association’s professional members are on the water daily, staying abreast of the ever-changing fishing conditions. They provide clients with a memorable day on the river and offer an assortment of charter options. These licensed captains provide all the necessary equipment and will even fillet your catch at the end of the day. Contact any of the listed guides with any questions or to reserve a trip of a lifetime. Be sure to inquire about the traditional “1000 Islands shore dinner” for an amazing treat you will never forget.
